LEARN MORE ON ITALICUS:
- History:
- Creator of Italicus, Giuseppe Gallo revived Rosolio (a popular liqueur in Italy during the Renaissance) in a small family distillery dating from 1906 in Moncilieri near Turin. He is inspired by a traditional recipe dating from 1860 which he will enrich with ingredients from his own family recipe.
- Elaboration:
- Bergamot and citron are infused in cold water to bring out the quintessence of their essential oils using a unique process called "Sfumatura" before being blended with neutral Italian grain alcohol.
- The natural aromatics of chamomile, lavender, gentian, yellow rose and lemon balm are then macerated for several days before being combined with the mixture from the Sfumatura.
- The liqueur is naturally sweetened with brown sugar in order to respect the production process of Rosolio, as it was in the 15th century.
- Ingredients :
- 100% Italian ingredients : bergamot from Calabria, citron from Sicily, Roman chamomile from Tuscany, lavender, gentian, yellow roses from Turin and Lemon balm from Piedmont
