Story :
It is in the Ubaye Valley in the heart of the Southern Alps and at the gates of the Mercantour National Park that the small artisan distillery is nestled.
Lachanenche is above all a story of family and values. It began in 1994 when our parents, Nicole and Daniel Million Rousseau, farmers and lovers of the flavors of the Ubaye valley, created a raspberry liqueur after a particularly abundant harvest of fruit.
After several years of sharing and training, the 2 brothers Jérôme and Benoît decided to take over their parents' business in 2019. Proud of this heritage, they preserve a method that respects the environment and create a new range of spirits, always based on local products.
 
Philosophy :
Pastis, liqueurs, genepi, eau-de-vie and gin are produced in short circuits and certified organic, 100% natural, without additives and without extracts or concentrates.
This exceptional land where biodiversity is one of the richest in Europe is home to a natural garden in which plants are selected for their aromatic intensity
for this gin, juniper berries and elderflowers are picked at an altitude of 1600 meters
 
Elaboration: In an old still dating from 1900, a slow triple distillation of a maceration of juniper berries, flavored with lemon zest, coriander, perfumed rose, and wild elderflower... A reduction with local spring water which ensures a great aromatic richness.
Tasting: 
Nose: powerful and complex with a vegetal dominance. Citrus notes (lime/kumquat) balanced by spicy touches of pepper and pine resin.
Taste: fairly round attack expressing the floral notes of rose and elderflower giving way little by little to the bitterness of juniper and notes of spices. The end of the mouth is long and fully expresses the well-tempered character of the mountain juniper.
This complex gin by its composition and its aromatic richness will satisfy connoisseurs who can taste it neat or in a cocktail.
